Case Study

Hybrid Roof Ventilation – Improving Indoor Air Quality

Key Objectives

The Challenge

Specialising in the manufacturing of high performance woven and non woven technical textiles, Don and Low asked us to help them find a solution to create a cleaner air environment for their employees in the production area. This area houses a newly installed manufacturing machine that produces melt blown non-woven textiles. Due to the process, the machine emits heat and smoke which contaminates the air and makes for an uncomfortable environment for employees.

The Solution

We analysed the area to establish the best product for the challenge and identified that to ensure all objectives were met, the Eco-Power hybrid roof ventilation unit, incorporating true hybrid technology, offered the best solution. Hybrid ventilation is defined as a ‘two mode’ (or multi-mode) system that is controlled to minimise energy consumption, whilst maintaining acceptable indoor air quality and thermal comfort. It will work to ensure a constant supply of fresh air and combines natural ventilation, with a high efficiency electronically commutated (EC) motor in a single unit to ensure reliable and on-demand peak performance. Eco-power is capable of operating unhindered in natural wind mode, or in both natural and energy efficient mechanical modes simultaneously. When required, performance is boosted by activating mechanical operation to ensure desired airflow rates are achieved. Even during mechanical operation, wind mode can improve flow rate performance.

The Result

“Eco-power from CPA has exceeded expectations in air change in the area and ensures a clean air environment for our employees. We trusted the team at CPA to deliver on our objectives and we are more than satisfied that we have a system for the future.”
