High energy costs and an ill-performing overdoor heater caused excessive draughts of cold air to travel into the shopping centre’s foyer. This resulted in an uncomfortable environment for shoppers and staff alike. The customer had existing Enershield Air Barriers operating at other openings in the shopping centre and wanted to replicate this where the heater was positioned.
Following a comprehensive analysis of the site, we suggested the installation of our Enershield Microshield (MCS-72) in place of the overdoor heater. Our Microshields are specifically designed for industries such as retail, where there is lower headroom above the doorway. Enershield Air Barriers function as secure seals between external and internal conditions, preventing any leakage of air between two areas, and are ideal for the shopping centre entrance.
The airflow management of the Air Barrier significantly reduces energy waste, thereby minimising energy costs of the shopping centre, as desired by our customer. Therefore, we removed the existing overdoor heater and installed the MCS-72 in its place. The Microshield was carefully fitted into the existing space, ensuring no disruption to the surrounding structure or daily operations.
The air barrier thoroughly improved the internal conditions of the shopping centre, which is additionally now more energy efficient, cutting costs and developing upon sustainability. As a result of our solution and installation, we have since received positive feedback from customer.
