Tennent’s are a Glasgow-based brewing company and Scotland’s market leading brand of pale lager with origins dating back to the 16th century.
The Fast Action Doors serving the kegging area at the Tennent’s facility had become increasingly difficult to maintain due to their operating environment and age. Positioned within an unsheltered external yard, the doors were continually exposed to extreme wind conditions and fluctuating weather, placing sustained stress on both the mechanical components and the overall door structure.
Over time, this exposure led to repeated service interventions, including multiple site visits to repair or replace worn components. A more resilient solution was required – one capable of withstanding the demanding external conditions, reducing ongoing maintenance demands, and improving long-term reliability and operational efficiency.
Following a comprehensive site analysis, we identified fold-up Fast Action Doors as the most effective solution for the operational and environmental challenges within the kegging area.
The fold-up design was particularly suited to this location due to its robust construction and ability to withstand extreme weather conditions. The doors provide enhanced protection across a large surface area, significantly reducing exposure to high winds in the unsheltered yard and enhancing reliability. Unlike zip-guided systems, the fold-up doors operate using guided legs, which greatly reduces the risk of curtain failure during periods of strong wind.
In addition, the inclusion of integrated wind bars increases structural stability, ensuring the doors maintain alignment and performance under demanding conditions. This design offers improved durability, reduced maintenance requirements, and greater long-term reliability, making it a more suitable solution for a high traffic, weather-exposed environment.
The fold-up Fast Action Doors have delivered a highly positive impact. Installation was smooth, the doors are performing reliably, and feedback has been very positive across the site. They have withstood challenging weather and provided a durable, long-term solution for the high-traffic, unsheltered kegging area.
