Following an internal audit, our customer approached us with concerns about security within their warehouse. The only access point to the warehouse was controlled by a roller shutter door for security purposes, and due to the high volume of traffic entering and exiting the building, the door was often unintentionally left open for extended periods of time.
After a comprehensive assessment of the site, we created a solution to address the operational challenges posed by the existing roller shutter door. We supplied and installed a Fast Action Door at the entrance of the warehouse. The Fast Action Door is ideal for warehouses due to its ability to facilitate fast and easy access between areas while remaining closed when not in use, maintaining security as desired by the customer.
We placed the door in front of the existing shutter to ensure that the shutter remains securely closed when not in use. The Fast Action Door is equipped with magnetic loop controls and can therefore respond promptly to traffic. To ensure a secure fit, we flashed the fast-action door in at both sides and header, using sheet metal supplied by Confab to assimilate the door with the existing structure. Additionally, we provided a structural ‘goalpost’ frame for mounting the door, accommodating the distance from the roller shutter and ensuring a stable installation.
The installation of the Fast Action Door was completed successfully and is operating smoothly. We have received positive feedback from the customer, as forklifts and staff can now pass through the entrance quickly and efficiently, and the door remains securely closed when not in use.
