Our customer approached us due to an issue with their overdoor air heater. The heater was not functioning effectively because of inconsistent and unsuitable internal temperatures. Furthermore, the additional monitoring of internal temperatures that had to be conducted lead to an increase in energy consumption, a cost that the library wanted to reduce.
After a careful analysis and survey of the site, we proposed the removal of the existing overdoor heater, due to its malfunctioning, and the installation of our European Comfortshield (ECS-72) Enershield Air Barrier. This air barrier was designed to recirculate facility air across the doorway, preventing outside temperatures from entering during colder months and keeping humidity from entering the facility during the warmer months. Therefore, the ECS-72 will allow the library to save money on energy costs year-round.
Following the proposal, we then removed the existing overdoor heater and prepared to install the ECS-72. To maintain a seamless appearance, we utilised brackets created by Confab to adjoin the door to the existing exterior. Finally, we reduced the speed of the air barrier and modified the controls, thereby softening the noise and tidying the installation.
Overall, the ECS-72 provides an efficient barrier between the internal and external conditions, cutting the customer’s energy costs as desired, and improving the environment within the library.
