Our customer, a global soft drinks manufacturer, was experiencing several significant issues with over-fobbing (excessive foaming) on a production line. There was considerable product waste due to overspill, which results in the production line having to be slowed to counter the over-fobbing, leading to a decrease in overall output.
Additionally, due to the stickiness of the bottles caused by the overspill, quality control issues were arising causing complications with the labelling and date printing processes on the production line.
After analysing the main issues and aligning on the key objectives with our partner company, we designed and installed an ultrasonic de-foaming system tailored to the customer’s specific production environment. The solution was not only engineered to address persistent foam formation at its source, but also to integrate seamlessly into existing processes without disrupting product quality.
To maximise operational flexibility, the system was designed and built on a robust portable stand. This mobile design enables the customer to easily reposition the unit between different production lines, allowing for quick deployment wherever foam challenges arise.
The installation of the ultrasonic de-foaming technology has yielded remarkable results. The over-fobbing issue has been completely eliminated, allowing the production line to operate at optimal speed without concerns of product waste or quality issues. External stickiness is no longer a problem, thus improving the efficiency of labelling and date printing processes.
Our customer has also reported achieving a return on investment (ROI) in just eight months. They have improved their production efficiency, enhanced product quality, and reduced operational costs.
